Mission is the heart of the church, the church exists by mission, the church also continue to survive because of mission. Christians are called to follow Christ, and follow the example of Christ's who came to earth to spread the Gospel. This is not optional, nor is it a freedom of choice. Jesus said, " Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it..." (Luke 9: 23-24) If this passage is that all Christians agree, who would dare say that evangelism is not my thing? Isn’t every Christian called to serve in the mission field? Therefore, evangelism should be a burden and is vital to the spiritual growth of every member of the church. Everyone can participate, must be involved, should accept the call and should be dedicated. Thanks be to the Lord! In the past few years, Abundant Grace has been adjusting to the pace of missions. With our limited human, material and financial resources, we are learning how to use our resources wisely to achieve more effective participation.
In support of foreign missions, we support missionaries and related ministries in Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar. To care for our migrant workers, we started in 2009 Chinese ministry, and then developed it to an evening worship. We have taken the initiative to enter our community and to contact residents in our neighbourhood through story telling, and setting up tuition classes to help students academically. In this way we diversify channels to spread the gospel. Thus far, our tuition centre have been extended to a children care centre. We also support local gospel and social welfare institutions such as the WICARE, Global Reachout, ORTV……. The Missions committee is mainly responsible for outreach, holding regular evangelistic meetings (such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, etc.), planning all kinds of evangelical activities, and evangelistic training.
